It's Autumn 2020. Almost all my shows have been canceled. The choirs that Jane Lewis and I lead in Guelph and Kitchener, ON (4 of them a week) are canceled, and we so miss the wonderful friends we've made over the past decade as well as the thrill and magic of singing together.
This fall Jane and I are doing a drop-in, pay what you can, "Alone Together Virtual Sing" every Tuesday, 7:30 to 8:30pm. Details are on my shows page and also here on Facebook.
And, I am offering a songwriting workshop in October. On-line. It is sold out, but I am planning an online songwriting weekend in late November, so please join my mailing list if you'd like to know more.
Here's a song from "Habits and Heroes". It's a song I used to sing at Sneaky Dees Uptown in Toronto. I had a monthly show there for a few years when I was starting out. Jesse Cook played guitar with me. We had a small but loyal following. Ken, an actor who'd amuse us by falling forward, straight as a post, and catch himself with his strong arms the second before he smashed his nose on the floor, used to request this song. I was having trouble finding a title for it. Ken suggested "Jimmy". He said it described his boyfriend perfectly. This one's for you Ken!!
